The Higher School of Sport, Well-being and Biomedical Systems (ESDBESB) is one of the organic units of IPCA and was created in December 2021. It is part of the public polytechnic higher education network. ESDBESB was born from a strategic plan to affirm the IPCA in the area of Sports, Wellbeing and Biomedical Systems and will have its headquarters in the city of Guimarães.
This school will be characterized by a different educational offer in the region, divided into 3 pillars: (i) Sports and Active Aging; (ii) Prevention and Wellbeing; and, (iii) Biomedical Systems.
ESDBESB’s mission is to provide qualified training for professionals with an articulated, technical and scientific vision in the areas of sport, well-being and biomedical systems. To this end, it explores synergies with IPCA’s established education, research and innovation ecosystem, namely, its schools and R&D units, partners of the Regional University Network (RUN-EU), companies and associations. It is intended that ESDBESB will be made up of a young and qualified teaching staff, whose mission is to be a reference school and guide its activities towards excellence
